AbstractIn the digital era, infidelity is no longer an unequivocal transgression of the “inside/outside the couple” boundary but rather a multilayered space where technology, culture, and sexual autonomy intersect. The growing visibility of female sexuality, the commercial decultivation of intimacy, the public presence of non-monogamous relationship models, and the normalization of long-distance relational formats generate new expectations and new forms of vulnerability. For couple therapy, this shift implies working with individual narratives and broader cultural scripts, supporting partners in developing negotiated agreements, emotional transparency, and mutual respect.
